...And Why Do Prices Vary So Much?
This week we were asked this great question again a few times. We've touched on this in some previous blog posts but we'll review some key points again below!
The prices for Aesthetic Treatments can vary significantly, and there are several factors at play: Experience, Fixed Costs for the Injector (rent, overhead etc), Variable costs for the injector (types of supplies used etc) and more.
The clients who asked us this question this week were visiting us for PRP and Botox treatments so in this post we'll relate the cost of these procedures to one factor: The experience of the Injector(s).
The primary point we had our clients consider here is the experience and investment your injector is making in their business and their profession as a Medical Injector. It's a tough industry to get established in, and many injectors have to start slowly. We get it. Sometimes a supplemental income is needed during the transition phase. But if that transition phases becomes permanent...then this becomes a key consideration point when trusting someone to perform your PRP, BOTOX or Aesthetics procedures.
A question to ask your injector is if they or their team is working full-time in the industry, or is it simply a side gig/hobby? Often, deeply discounted prices come from those who have full-time employment elsewhere and do this as a hobby. While this is a great way to build a side hustle, it's a situation of buyer beware. Lower prices can come with lower experience and lesser quality supplies/products. Someone that isn't fully invested in this career, may not have fully invested in the training and tools to perform the procedures safe and effectively.
Many medical professionals also run complementary practices or businesses, each with its own specialty. At some point, this turns into a situation of you visiting a generalist. Is your Injector also running a family health clinic? Or perhaps also provide an array of laser hair removal procedures. These and many more services each require a degree of specialization and focus.
If your injector has a business next door, or pages & pages of services being offered, are you trusting your health to a specialist or hobbyist?
Here are some key things to keep in mind when choosing an injector:
Experience: How experienced is your injector?
Qualifications: What are their degrees and certifications?
Commitment: Are they full-time in the business, or do they have another entirely separate clinic?
Specialization: How many services do they offer? Is it one injector doing a wide range of services, or do they have specialists for specific treatments like PRP, Botox, laser hair removal, etc.?
